Woman at Edhi Shelter Home Reunites with Family After 15 Years

A woman, who had spent fifteen years in an Edhi shelter home after being separated from her family in childhood, finally reunited with her parents today in a poignant handover ceremony.

The woman was formally handed over to her family on Monday morning at the Edhi head office in Mithadar. The ceremony took place in the presence of Faisal Edhi, the Managing Trustee of the Edhi Foundation, the organization that had cared for her for over a decade.

The woman’s long journey began in 2010 when, at the age of 8, she was brought from Lahore and admitted to the Edhi home in Sohrab Goth. Following a successful identification process, her reunion with her biological family was made possible.
