Massive Security Sweep Detains 26 Suspicious Individuals in Capital

Twenty-six suspicious persons were taken into custody for legal proceedings following extensive search and combing operations conducted by law enforcement in various jurisdictions across the federal capital. The security initiative involved the thorough inspection of hundreds of individuals, residences, and vehicles.

According to a police report today, the operations, carried out under the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, are part of special measures to curtail criminal activities and bolster the city”s safety. These searches are being executed on a regular basis throughout different areas of Islamabad.

This latest sweep was conducted within the precincts of the Golra, Sabzi Mandi, Karachi Company, and Shehzad Town police stations. The actions were supervised by the SP Rural and SP Soan zones.

During the extensive search, authorities checked 355 individuals, 167 houses, and 25 shops. Additionally, 136 motorcycles and 46 vehicles were subjected to inspection, culminating in the detention of the 26 individuals.

SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, emphasized that the primary objective of these initiatives is to tighten the security cordon around criminal elements. He affirmed that the operations are designed to reinforce the overall security framework of the city.

The SSP Operations further asserted that Islamabad Police will continue with indiscriminate actions against criminals, including land grabbers and drug traffickers.

Officials also issued an appeal to citizens, urging them to cooperate with the police force. Residents were encouraged to report any suspicious activity immediately to the nearest police station or via the ‘Pucar-15’ emergency helpline.
