Law enforcement agencies in Khairpur have detained five individuals and recovered a significant quantity of contraband during an ongoing anti-drug campaign. Approximately three kilograms of charas and hundreds of intoxicating betel nuts were seized in operations conducted under the direction of SSP Khairpur, Dr. Samiullah Soomro.
In one operation on Thursday, personnel from the Shaheed Murtaza Mirani police station arrested two suspects, Bashir Ahmed Shahwani and Javed Khamisani, during a patrol near Superior Science College. Reportedly, 1520 grams of charas were recovered from their possession.
In a separate operation, Gambat police took Sikandar Shaikh and Amir Kehar into custody during patrol duty near Naseem Karl Gate. Authorities recovered 1300 grams of charas from the two individuals.
In a third operation conducted by B-Section police near Dargah Jind Wado, Shakeel Mehar was arrested. During the search, personnel recovered 200 intoxicating betel nuts from the accused.
Formal cases have been registered against all arrested individuals in connection with the recoveries.
