4 members of notorious dacoit gang arrested in intelligence-based operations of Pakistan Rangers (Sindh)

Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) have arrested four alleged members of a notorious dacoit gang, including its ringleader, during intelligence-based operations in different areas of the city.

The accused, arrested on Saturday, have been identified as Kashif alias Rakkha, Muhammad Ilyas, Amir Hamza, and Yasin alias Dada. They were taken into custody from the areas of Godhra and Sector 11-G.

According to a spokesperson, the arrested individuals were operatives of an organized criminal network involved in multiple incidents of armed robbery, mobile snatching, and drug peddling, particularly in the areas of New Karachi and North Karachi.

A large quantity of weapons was recovered from the possession of the accused, including two 30-bore pistols and two 9mm pistols along with four magazines and bullets. Cash used in criminal activities was also recovered.

Further details revealed that one of the arrested individuals, Muhammad Ilyas, is a habitual offender. He was arrested and sent to jail in 2024 for possessing illegal weapons.

The paramilitary force has confirmed that raids are being conducted to trace and arrest other associates affiliated with the criminal gang.

Following the initial arrests, all four accused, along with the recovered weapons, have been handed over to the police for further legal proceedings.

The law enforcement agency has also appealed to the public to immediately report any information about such criminal elements to their nearest check post or designated helplines, assuring that the identity of the informant will be kept confidential.
