The Islamabad police on Thursday claimed to have taken 21 individuals into custody following a series of operations across the federal capital, confiscating a substantial quantity of narcotics and illegal armaments.
According to the details released, police teams from the Secretariat, Ramna, Sangjani, Shams Colony, and Nilor stations apprehended 16 suspects allegedly involved in various criminal undertakings.
In a separate initiative targeting wanted individuals, various police teams also arrested five proclaimed offenders and absconders.
During the raids, officials recovered 1,110 grams of hashish, 530 grams of heroin, and 647 grams of ice. The seized items also included seven pistols, two rifles with accompanying ammunition, and two daggers.
Cases have been lodged against the detained individuals, and further inquiries are currently in progress.
The operations were conducted as part of a wider crackdown against criminal elements, following specific directives from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.
A police statement noted that the objective of such actions is to ensure peace and protect the lives and property of the city”s residents.
Citizens have been urged to report any suspicious activities to their nearest police station or via the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline to foster cooperation between the public and law enforcement in crime eradication efforts.
