Four most-wanted fugitive accused, involved in over two dozen serious crimes including murder, terrorism, and robbery, surrendered to law enforcement agencies in Ghotki district on Monday.
The individuals, identified as Wali Muhammad alias Babu and Eso (both sons of Gul Hassan alias Gelo Shar), Noor Hassan alias Noorul, and Qurban, voluntarily presented themselves at the Shaheed Deen Muhammad Laghari police station.
Their surrender comes in the wake of public appeals by the Sindh government and senior police officials, including Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar, who had urged criminals to abandon their illicit activities and surrender to the law in exchange for leniency.
In a statement to the police, the surrendering individuals cited the “fear of police and the tightening cordon” of ongoing operations, along with a desire for a “life of honor,” as the primary reasons for their decision.
Wali Muhammad is implicated in more than 13 serious crimes, including murder, terrorism, robbery, and police encounters. His brother, Eso, is wanted in over seven similar cases.
The other two individuals, Noor Hassan alias Noorul and Qurban, are wanted in two and one murder cases, respectively.
“We have full faith in the police, and we will face all the cases registered against us in court,” the group stated, while also sending a message to other fugitives to follow their example and surrender.
A Ghotki police spokesperson confirmed that the accused will be presented before the relevant court to face legal proceedings and that security operations against criminal elements in the region are ongoing.
