A wave of violence swept through different parts of the city on Tuesday, resulting in four people, including a woman and an alleged suspect, being injured by gunfire in various firing incidents and a police encounter.
In the Sukhan area, law enforcement agencies had an armed confrontation near Mola Madad Graveyard in Lala Abad No. 2. During the exchange of fire, an alleged suspect, identified as Sikandar, was arrested in an injured state, while his accomplice managed to escape from the scene.
Authorities confirmed that a weapon was recovered from the arrested individual. The injured suspect was later moved to a hospital for medical treatment.
Earlier, in the Kalakot area of Lyari, a 45-year-old woman, Razia, was injured by gunfire near Benazir University.
Separately, another firing incident was reported from Gulshan-e-Maymar Sector X-3, where a 20-year-old youth named Ramzan was injured.
In a third incident, near Al-Noor Hotel close to Jokhiyo Market in Ghaghar Phatak, 18-year-old Khalid was injured by a gunshot. All victims of the various firing incidents were moved to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
