According to SSP East Zubair Nazir Sheikh, the alleged ringleader of the inter-provincial motorcycle theft syndicate, known as the Khuzdar gang, has been arrested in an injured state after an exchange of fire with law enforcement agencies in Ferozabad.
The encounter took place near Shaheed-e-Millat Road when Ferozabad police pursued the suspects, resulting in an exchange of fire.
Authorities have identified the arrested individual as Farhan son of Akbar Ali. An illegal weapon with ammunition, a mobile phone, and some cash were recovered from his possession.
The motorcycle recovered from the suspect was snatched from within the jurisdiction of the Ferozabad police station.
During the initial investigation, Farhan confessed to being involved in stealing dozens of motorcycles. He revealed that his gang, along with other accomplices, used to snatch vehicles from citizens at gunpoint.
The stolen motorcycles were later sold at a low price in the areas of Khuzdar, Hub, and Winder. The accused also confessed to his involvement in various robbery incidents in different parts of Karachi.
Authorities are obtaining the suspect’s prior criminal record. An East police spokesperson has confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and further legal proceedings have been initiated.
