A police encounter with two alleged robbers in Malir concluded in an exchange of fire, resulting in one suspect being arrested in an injured state while the other managed to escape from the authorities.
The incident occurred on Wednesday in the vicinity of National Ground, where law enforcement personnel confronted the individuals. The arrested suspect has been identified as Asad son of Sher Alam.
Asad was injured in the exchange of fire and was transferred to a nearby hospital for immediate medical treatment under police custody. The search for his accomplice, who fled from the scene during the operation, is underway.
Authorities have seized a pistol, related ammunition, and several mobile phones, along with other evidence, from the scene.
The police have launched a formal inquiry into the matter to determine the full circumstances of the incident and to track down the fugitive suspect.
