Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) have arrested nine alleged members of two notorious criminal organizations during intelligence-based operations in various districts of the city. A large cache of drugs, weapons, and cash exceeding four million rupees was also recovered during the raids.
A spokesperson for Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) confirmed on Thursday that the operations, conducted on a tip-off, targeted the areas of Old Golimar, Pak Colony, and Nazimabad. The detained individuals have been identified as Arsalan alias Mithu son of Suleman, Liaquat Ali alias Commando son of Ghulam Haider, Ashir son of Aslam, Ishan Safdar alias Shano son of Safdar Hussain, Rizwan alias Tendo son of Karim Bakhsh, Muhammad Ahmed son of Muhammad Yahya, Noman son of Javed Iqbal, Nadeem son of Muhammad Irshad, and Sajjad son of Ghulam Hussain.
The items recovered during the targeted operations include four pistols with ammunition, a significant quantity of drugs consisting of 8.35 kilograms of hashish, and hundreds of tokens of crystal meth. Authorities also seized 48 bottles of liquor, 150 kg of gutka, 1490 packets of mawa, 18 mobile phones, and cash amounting to Rs 4,137,400.
According to the official statement, the accused are part of organized syndicates led by Kashif Dada and Riasat Jadgal. These groups are allegedly involved in numerous criminal activities, including armed robbery, drug trafficking, and motorcycle and mobile phone snatching in the targeted areas.
The press release identified the arrested individuals as habitual offenders with pre-existing First Information Reports (FIRs) registered against them at various police stations. Efforts are underway to track down and apprehend their remaining accomplices.
Following the arrests, the accused, along with the recovered weapons, drugs, and other items, have been handed over to police custody for further legal proceedings.
The Rangers have also appealed to the public to report any information about such criminal elements to their nearest check post or the Rangers Helpline 1101.
