The body of a newborn baby was recovered on Monday from a polythene bag thrown on the roadside in the city.
According to initial reports, the body was found near the Garden Zoo.
Upon receiving information, Edhi Foundation rescue workers reached the scene and took the body of the deceased baby into their custody.
Later, the baby’s body was shifted via an Edhi ambulance to the Civil Hospital to complete medico-legal formalities.
Officials of the Garden police station have taken notice of the incident and have started investigating the matter.
