The Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) on Tuesday praised the inauguration of the new Korangi Causeway Bridge, a Rs 6.135 billion infrastructure project aimed at alleviating severe traffic congestion and stimulating commercial activity for millions of commuters and numerous businesses in the city’s industrial heartland.
In a joint statement, KATI President Muhammad Ikram Rajput and Acting Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya congratulated Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, describing the completion of the bridge as a major milestone for public convenience and industrial progress.
The business leaders said the vital infrastructure initiative would significantly ease the daily commute for citizens, reduce gridlock, and provide a substantial boost to economic activities, benefiting both industrial zones and the general public in the long term.
President KATI, Muhammad Ikram Rajput, highlighted that the causeway fulfils a long-standing demand from industrialists and local residents. He noted that the structure is a sustainable step forward for the Korangi, Landhi, and surrounding industrial areas.
“The project will greatly improve traffic flow and facilitate industrial and commercial activities,” Rajput stated, adding that the new bridge will reduce pressure on existing routes and save considerable time, fuel, and other resources for commuters and businesses.
He emphasised that enhancing the connectivity of industrial zones with the city”s main arteries is pivotal for accelerating economic performance and improving overall productivity.
Acting Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya remarked that the bridge would make daily life easier for residents of Korangi and nearby localities by substantially reducing travel-related difficulties.
Chhaya commended the Sindh government for the timely completion of the development scheme and expressed confidence that, under the chief minister”s leadership, the province would continue to prioritise public welfare and infrastructure projects crucial for economic growth.
