3 accused involved in multiple incidents of robbery and dacoity arrested from Karachi’s Dawood Goth

Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) announced on Thursday that three members of a criminal gang, allegedly involved in the murder of a grocery store owner in 2023, have been taken into custody following an intelligence-based operation.

In a press release, the arrested individuals were identified as Abdul Wahid alias Joji, Murtaza, and Ejaz. They were apprehended during a raid in the Dawood Goth, Pakka Road, Saeedabad area. Three mobile phones were also recovered from their possession.

According to the details provided, the accused, along with a fourth absconding accomplice, shot and killed a shopkeeper for resisting a robbery attempt in the Yousuf Goth area.

The accused are involved in numerous street crimes, including snatching cash and valuables at gunpoint, in various areas such as Yousuf Goth, Gulshan-e-Mazdoor, Dawood Goth, Naval Road, Hub River Road, and 24 Market. The statement added that the gang also injured several citizens during their criminal activities.

The accused have been described as habitual criminals with a prior record of arrests and imprisonment, and they allegedly used to sell stolen mobile phones at the Sunday Market in Iskani Muhalla.

The paramilitary force has confirmed that raids are being conducted to apprehend their other accomplices. The detained accused, along with the recovered items, have been handed over to the police for further legal proceedings.

A Rangers spokesperson has appealed to the public to report any information about criminal elements to the nearest check post, the Rangers Helpline 1101, or the Rangers Madadgar WhatsApp number 03479001111, assuring that the identity of the informant will be kept confidential.
