Authorities Incinerate Over 18 Tonnes of Narcotics; Dozens of Traffickers Receive Life Sentences

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) disposed of a substantial quantity of illicit substances, incinerating over eighteen tonnes of various drugs and more than one hundred and sixty-nine thousand litres of liquor during its annual drug disposal ceremony.

To prevent environmental contamination, the seized narcotics were destroyed using a modern industrial incinerator, according to a report today.

The ceremony follows a year of significant enforcement by ANF Punjab, which led to the arrest of five hundred and ninety alleged drug smugglers.

During this period, the force registered four hundred and sixty-three cases against the suspects.

The legal proceedings resulted in severe judicial consequences, with various courts sentencing thirty-five smugglers to life imprisonment and imposing harsh penalties on another one hundred and thirty-two culprits.
