Thousands of police personnel deployed for extensive security operation in Sukkur during Ramadan

In a significant security measure for the holy month of Ramadan, a total of 3,951 police officers and personnel are being deployed in the Sukkur range to protect the lives and property of the public, according to a comprehensive plan issued today by DIG Nasir Aftab.

The purpose of this security arrangement is to establish an integrated and effective system during the three phases of Ramadan. This large contingent of law enforcement agencies will be permanently deployed at important public places including 807 mosques, 46 imambargahs, 557 shabina venues, 11 open spaces, and numerous bazaars and markets.

To deal with any unforeseen situation, a reserve platoon will be kept on standby for immediate action in emergencies.

On Fridays, security will be further tightened, where an additional 1,981 officers and personnel will be deployed on duty to handle large gatherings.

The security presence will be significantly increased on specific holy occasions. An additional 1,662 for Shab-e-Qadr, 595 for Jumatul Wida, and 2,237 personnel will be deployed for events related to Youm-e-Ali. For the processions and gatherings of Youm-e-Ali, a total of 3,218 male and female security personnel will be deployed.

To enhance visibility and mobility, the strategy includes continuous patrolling by 95 police mobile vans and 99 motorcycles throughout the range. Intelligence agencies have also been directed to increase their vigilance and to report any suspicious activity immediately.

Directives issued under the plan mandate strict patrolling in public places, with a focus on deploying lady police personnel in commercial areas. Security protocols, including picketing and search procedures at the entry and exit points of cities and on major highways, will be made more effective.

In view of the increased rush in urban areas, special traffic staff will be deployed to keep the flow of traffic smooth.

These security measures will also provide foolproof protection to important government and semi-government buildings, sensitive installations, Jamatkhanas, places of worship of minority communities, and all public places throughout the Sukkur range.
