6 arrested in raids on drug dens, illegal shisha cafe in Karachi

Police took six individuals into custody today following two separate operations aimed at curbing drug distribution and illicit commercial activities in the city.

In a counter-narcotics action, Gulshan-e-Iqbal police conducted a targeted operation on a drug den near Nipa Bridge, resulting in the arrest of a suspected drug dealer named Muhammad Luqman.

During the arrest, officials recovered over half a kilogram of hashish from the suspect’s possession. Cash proceeds from drug sales were also confiscated.

In a separate incident, a crackdown was initiated against a shisha cafe after a video of it went viral online, catching the attention of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) South.

On the SSP’s directive, personnel from the Gizri police station raided the location and took five individuals, including the cafe’s manager, into custody.

Four hookahs and various shisha flavors were seized from the premises. A formal case has been registered against the shisha cafe, and an investigation is underway.
