Speakers, paying tribute to the enduring legacy of renowned Sindhi writer, intellectual, and judge, Comrade Taj Muhammad Abro, on his 40th death anniversary at a ceremony held today, affirmed his profound and lasting impact on the region.
The commemorative event, hosted by Dilshad Ahmed Bhan, took place in the village of Mola Bux Bhan near Khairpur. It was organized in collaboration with the Comrade Taj Muhammad Abro Memorial Library and the Shah Latif Foundation.
Addressing the gathering, several distinguished figures, including writer Abdul Khaliq Shar and Shah Latif Foundation’s spokesperson Faqir Sahib Latifi, emphasized that Comrade Abro’s contributions will forever be remembered. They highlighted his unwavering commitment to the land and people of Sindh, which remains his greatest legacy.
Participants noted that his status as an “institution-builder” and a “man of action” is evident from the numerous libraries, parks, and roads named after him across the province. The speakers collectively described him as a multifaceted personality whose significant services to Sindh cannot be articulated in simple words.
During the proceedings, Dilshad Ahmed Bhan presented a detailed paper on the late intellectual’s ideology, character, and achievements. The event also featured cultural tributes, with artists like Sughar Yar Muhammad Patafi and Gada Hussain Bhan presenting Wai, Bait, and poetry.
