Massive Greening Initiative Launched To Combat Pollution and Climate Change

In a concerted effort to address mounting environmental pollution and the escalating effects of climate change, the district administration initiated a vigorous city-wide tree plantation drive, a statement confirmed on Wednesday.

Operating under the banner of the “Quetta Clean and Green Initiative 2026,” the campaign is seeing collaborative teams from the district administration and the Rotary Club actively engaged in planting saplings across the metropolis. The efforts are concentrated along major highways, within parks, at educational institutions, and throughout residential areas and vacant plots.

The primary objectives of the scheme are to make the city greener, counteract the impacts of climate change, and lower urban temperatures. A key goal is also to foster public consciousness about the importance of afforestation, highlighting that trees not only help maintain a pollution-free environment but also yield positive effects on human health.

Voicing their support, representatives from the Rotary Club affirmed their ongoing commitment to collaborating with the administration for the city”s beautification and environmental enhancement. They issued an appeal to the public, urging residents to participate proactively in the campaign by planting as many saplings as possible in their homes, neighbourhoods, and surrounding areas.
