Balochistan”s police force has apprehended 497 proclaimed offenders in a targeted 40-day operation, a figure that nearly rivals the total number of fugitives arrested throughout the entirety of 2025, Inspector General of Police Muhammad Tahir announced on Thursday.
The provincial police chief congratulated all police ranges on the success of the special campaign, which ran from 26 January to 18 March 2026. He expressed satisfaction over the “effective discipline, professional determination and improved performance” demonstrated by officers, which he described as commendable.
Highlighting the scale of the achievement, IG Tahir noted that while only 587 proclaimed offenders were arrested during the whole of the preceding year, the recent 40-day initiative successfully detained 497, reflecting the dedication and coordinated efforts of the force.
In recognition of this performance, cash rewards and CC-1 certificates were announced for several districts. The Kachchi and Hub districts will each receive Rs 200,000, Quetta will be awarded Rs 150,000, and Sibi will be given Rs 100,000. Furthermore, the districts of Kohlu and Ziarat are set to receive Rs 75,000 each.
The IG paid special tribute to the Kohlu and Ziarat districts for achieving a 100 per cent arrest rate of their declared criminals, directing other smaller districts to follow their example.
Praise was also extended to the Additional IG Police Operation Balochistan, under whose guidance, the IG said, officers across the province worked tirelessly while maintaining high standards of discipline and integrity throughout the campaign.
