Karachi: Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has launched Google's Find Hub share item location feature to aid in the recovery of lost or delayed baggage for travelers from Pakistan. This initiative aims to provide an additional, optional tool for guests to assist the airline during the baggage tracking process.
According to Saudia Airlines, the feature allows travelers using compatible tracker tags or Bluetooth accessories to generate a secure, temporary link that can be shared with the airline. This link, when attached to a baggage claim record, grants the airline's ground teams time-limited access to the location information of the luggage, thus enhancing the efficiency of baggage recovery operations. Guests retain full control over their data, as the location sharing can be halted at any time and automatically expires after seven days.
Rossen Dimitrov, Saudia's Chief Guest Experience Officer, emphasized that the airline's focus is on providing confidence and reassurance to its guests throughout their journey. He noted that this initiative is part of a larger commitment to transparency and guest empowerment. "It's about strengthening trust and providing peace of mind through thoughtful, guest-centered decisions," Dimitrov explained.
Saudia is among the first airlines globally to offer this capability, highlighting its commitment to digital transformation and enhancing guest experiences. The feature prioritizes privacy, ensuring that the shared location data is used exclusively for baggage recovery and is accessible only to the airline.
The feature is available to guests in Pakistan, provided their devices and tracker accessories are compatible and updated to the latest software versions.
