In Hyderabad, the Sindh Food Authority today confiscated a large quantity of expired beverages, successfully thwarting an attempt to distribute thousands of beverages with fake expiry dates.
In this operation led by Deputy Director Fida Khoso, the Food Authority team sealed Mustafa Traders and imposed a fine of Rs. 300,000.
Provincial Minister for Food, Makhdoom Mehboob-uz-Zaman, confirmed that the Food Authority successfully stopped the supply of unhealthy beverages in the market.
Minister Mehboob-uz-Zaman highlighted that extensive enforcement activities are currently underway across the province by the Food Authority.
He reiterated that instructions have been issued to the Food Authority to expand these operations throughout the province.
Emphasizing a firm stance, the Minister said that strict action against sellers of substandard items is ongoing, and confirmed that no leniency will be shown towards sellers of substandard and unhygienic items.
Following the confiscation, the unhealthy beverages were taken into custody by the Food Authority, and the process of their destruction has begun.
