A person suspected of being involved in multiple cases of robbery, dacoity, and motorcycle theft was arrested in injured condition during an encounter with police in Thatta on Thursday, and a weapon allegedly used in crimes was also recovered.
The arrest took place on the main road near Shah Yaqeeq Mazar which connects Thatta to Hyderabad, falling within the operational area of Thatta Police Station. The person was injured during firing between law enforcement officers and alleged culprits. He was identified as Gul Bahar, son of Niaz Chandio, resident of Chandia Mohalla, Gharo.
Initial police investigations reveal that the injured person is involved in multiple illegal activities, including incidents of street robbery, armed dacoity, and motorcycle snatching in Thatta, Makli, Gharo, and adjoining areas. A handgun allegedly used in these crimes was also recovered from his possession.
Authorities are reviewing the complete criminal history of this person, and search operations are underway to locate and apprehend his accomplices who evaded arrest. The injured suspect has been transferred to a medical facility for treatment, and further police investigations are ongoing.
