Al-Khidmat’s Tahir Mahmood’s death is medical negligence, Sindh government should take notice; Civil Society Khairpur

Prominent community leaders in Khairpur today expressed deep concern regarding the recent death of Tahir Mahmood Memon, a well-known leader of Al-Khidmat Foundation, attributing his demise to alleged medical negligence.

Among those who expressed deep concern were Chaudhry Syed Muhammad Mutahir Zaidi, Maulana Syed Mustajab Haider Abidi, Professor Syed Raees Haider, Ali Azmat Baloch, Saeed Baladi, Mahboob Mustafa Zaidi, Advocate Shahbaz Shah, Imran Jafar Zaidi, and Syed Rehan Shakeel, representing Shia Rabita Council, Shia Ulema Council, and Jafria Alliance Khairpur. They expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the bereaved family.

These community representatives highlighted a recurring issue, stating that previous incidents of institutional negligence have also led to numerous avoidable deaths. They further added that the district administration has consistently shown indifference towards these tragic incidents.

The leaders questioned the rationale behind this alleged negligence, especially given the millions allocated in the budget for public health services. Consequently, they urged the Sindh government to take strict action against the incompetent administration of the local Civil Hospital.

Furthermore, they emphasized concrete measures to ensure the provision of effective services and relief to the public.
