Authorities have issued a strict warning, announcing that under-measurement is a serious crime that will not be tolerated, as checking of weighing and measuring instruments has begun in local markets and petrol stations.
This checking was conducted today by District Officer Industries, Prices, Weights and Measures Khalid Javaid Bhatti under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Usman Javaid. Bhatti thoroughly checked weighing scales and various measuring instruments at different commercial centers, markets, and fuel pumps in the area.
During this exercise, District Officer Bhatti emphasized that fraudulent measurement is a serious violation and moral failure that will be resisted without hesitation. He stressed that all shopkeepers and petrol pump operators must strictly adhere to established measurement regulations and refrain from any deception.
Traders and businessmen were specifically advised to avoid the use of substandard weights or any devices that provide less than the prescribed quantity. Bhatti clearly warned that strict legal action would be taken against individuals involved in such deceptive practices.
To ensure continuous implementation, teams have been directed to maintain an active field presence and verify measuring instruments on a daily basis, reinforcing the commitment to fair trade practices and consumer protection.
