Authorities in Mirpurkhas have initiated legal action against several individuals involved in electricity theft following a major operation today in the Satellite Town Sub-Division, where more than 50 illegal electricity connections were disconnected and millions of rupees in outstanding dues were recovered.
This crackdown is part of a special national campaign by the Government of Pakistan and HESCO, conducted under the direct supervision of HESCO Mirpurkhas Circle’s Superintending Engineer Aamir Memon and Executive Engineer Amjad Sheikh. SDO Riaz Mayo, Line Superintendents Sikandar Maher and Mohsin, and other staff led the enforcement activities.
In addition to disconnecting more than fifty unauthorized lines, this operation also resulted in financial penalties being imposed on several individuals. HESCO officials confirmed that daily operations targeting energy theft and bill defaulters are ongoing across the region.
The names of individuals found involved in illegal electricity usage have been sent to the police for the registration of FIRs, paving the way for further legal action. Authorities emphasized that such actions and non-payment of bills impose a financial burden on the organization, ultimately affecting honest consumers.
Consequently, the campaign against these problem-causing elements is being intensified. HESCO urged residents to ensure timely payment of their electricity bills to avoid punitive actions and contribute to the financial stability of the power utility.
