Governor inaugurates Sports Complex, Miyawaki Urban Forest

Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi inaugurated the Sports Complex and Miyawaki Urban Forest at the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA). Upon arrival, Director General Dr Saif-ur-Rehman and other officials warmly received him. He also performed the flag-hoisting ceremony on the occasion.

Later, Director General NIPA Dr. Saif-ur-Rehman briefed Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi and the participants about the institute’s facilities, including the digital library, bookshop, cafeteria, and other academic and administrative sections, according to information from the Sindh Governor House today.

Addressing the graduation ceremony of the 39th Senior Management Course, Hashmi congratulated the administration, faculty, and participants on the successful completion of the course. He said that institutions play a vital role in the development of any country, while competent officers are central to the progress of governance and administration. He stated that bureaucracy in Pakistan serves as the backbone of the state system.

Hashmi said that officers are not merely public servants but a vital bridge of trust between the state and the citizens. He emphasized that an ideal officer is one who upholds the rule of law, merit, integrity, and public service as core responsibilities.

He further said that Pakistan needs administrators equipped with practical thinking, effective decision-making skills, and modern administrative capabilities to address challenges efficiently. He noted that Karachi and other parts of Sindh offer vast opportunities for improvement in civic facilities, education, healthcare, and investment.

He added that with a growing population, the pressure on urban services is increasing, making the role of trained officers even more critical. He urged officers to prioritize public service while strictly adhering to the law. The governor said that sincere service to the people brings divine reward, and expressed hope that trained officers from this course will play a positive role in national development.

Rehman and other speakers also addressed the ceremony, highlighting the objectives of training programs at NIPA. It was also shared that during the course, participants interacted with officers from Bangladesh as part of international exposure.
