Disciplinary action against 22 doctors of government hospitals in Khairpur for prolonged absence

The district health office of Khairpur has dismissed 22 doctors today due to prolonged unauthorized absence from their positions. This decision came after the District Health Officer (DHO) conducted surprise inspections at various hospitals and health centers in the district, revealing a worrying pattern of absenteeism.

The DHO had already issued multiple personal hearing notices to the absent doctors, giving them ample opportunity to explain their absences. While a few doctors responded and acknowledged their shortcomings, promising to correct their behavior, the majority-specifically 22 doctors-failed to respond. Consequently, these individuals have been relieved of their duties and instructed to report to the Sindh Department of Health.

The list of dismissed doctors includes: Dr. Onish, Dr. Tanveer Ahmed, Dr. Saeed Ahmed, Dr. Khalil, Dr. Aasia, Dr. Woneka, Dr. Muhammad Wajidullah, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Dr. Paras Aziz, Dr. Arun Kumar, Dr. Imtiaz Sohoo, Dr. Muhammad Ayub Sheikh, Dr. Reema Kumari, Dr. Romeesa, Dr. Naila Gul, Dr. Darshan, Dr. Atiqur Rahman Sheikh, Dr. Kashif Mughal, Dr. Ghulam Ali, Dr. Javed Nabi, Dr. Shah Zaman Gul, and Dr. Fareed Ahmed.

In a statement, the District Health Officer has appealed to the Sindh Department of Health to initiate further disciplinary actions according to official protocol. This step demonstrates the department’s commitment to maintaining accountability and ensuring that healthcare professionals are present to fulfill their duties.
