In a horrific case of alleged honor killing, authorities today promptly arrested a man in Okara on charges of killing his sister. The incident took place within the jurisdiction of Shahpur Police Station, where Saba Bibi, who was a widow, was allegedly shot dead by her brother Khurram.
Preliminary police investigations reveal that Khurram suspected Saba Bibi of being involved in an illicit relationship, which led him to commit this horrific act. Acting promptly on the instructions of District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Asad Ijaz Malhi, law enforcement officials arrested the suspect within an hour of the crime and also recovered the weapon allegedly used.
During the investigation, Khurram allegedly confessed to the crime, according to police sources. DPO Dr. Malhi emphasized in a statement that the perpetrator would be subjected to the harshest punishments according to the law.
