After a decade and a half, the baseless allegations and media trial have come to an end, MQM Pakistan spokesperson

The spokesperson of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan warmly welcomed the historic decision by the Supreme Court of Pakistan to completely acquit in the Baldia Factory incident case, calling it a victory of truth and a slap on the face of the organized media trial that continued for years. In a statement issued from the Bahadurabad Center, the spokesperson said that the Baldia Factory incident was a painful human tragedy in the country’s history, and every worker and leader of MQM is still as grieved as the affected families, but it is extremely regrettable that this tragedy was used as a weapon under a planned conspiracy to politically crush and discredit MQM. The MQM spokesperson expressed sorrow, stating that it took almost a decade and a half to prove MQM’s innocence and the truth of its cause. Delay in justice is actually the murder of justice, and during this long and arduous fourteen-year period, not only the movement but also the families of the innocent victims were subjected to severe mental and psychological anguish, which cannot be compensated. The statement said that under the guise of the Baldia Factory case, MQM Pakistan was subjected to the worst political exploitation, questions were raised about the organization’s patriotism, a one-sided trial was conducted in the media, and every possible tactic was used to damage public popularity. Today’s Supreme Court decision has proved that it was nothing but political revenge and adventurism. MQM Pakistan has strongly demanded from the esteemed judiciary and legislative bodies to take immediate and concrete steps to prevent any political party from being targeted with such heinous tactics based on mere assumptions and political engineering in the future. The spokesperson emphasized that strict laws should be formulated to ensure the strict accountability of elements conducting political media trials of any human tragedy and leveling false accusations. The spokesperson clarified that MQM Pakistan has stood with the heirs of the Baldia martyrs from day one and is still equally sharing in their grief. In light of the Supreme Court’s decision, we demand that the process of real redress and rehabilitation of the victims be made more transparent and expedited. The MQM spokesperson expressed determination that despite all adverse conditions, political oppression, and storms of false accusations, the Supreme Court’s decision has boosted the morale of the workers. The law of nature has once again proved MQM’s cause to be clean and transparent, and the propagandists should now feel remorse in front of the public and history for their deeds.
