Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab visited various ongoing development projects in the city late at night and inspected the construction work on the Nasir Jump-to-Mehrunsa Road, which connects Korangi Creek and Ibrahim Hyderi in District Korangi.
According to KMC information today, officials of the Engineering Department briefed the Mayor in detail on the progress of the project, technical aspects, and ongoing construction activities. He was informed that the road reconstruction work was being carried out in collaboration with the Local Government Department and the CLICK Project, which would benefit thousands of residents in the area.
During the briefing, the mayor was informed that the 1,800-meter-long road was being reconstructed in accordance with modern standards and would include a new storm-water drainage system and sewerage lines. Under the project, installation work on a 36-inch-diameter storm-water drain line and an 18-inch-diameter sewerage line was progressing rapidly to provide a permanent solution to sewerage and rainwater drainage issues.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Wahab said that the ongoing development works across the city were now speaking for themselves and offering renewed hope to citizens. He stated that the public service and development performance of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had unsettled its opponents and those engaged in negative propaganda.
The mayor said that, under the leadership of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Karachi was moving toward better infrastructure, improved civic facilities, and a more prosperous future. He added that efforts were being made around the clock to resolve public issues and provide basic facilities to citizens, while opponents remained focused solely on criticism and allegations.
Wahab directed the concerned officials to ensure that the project was completed within the stipulated timeframe and according to the highest quality standards so that citizens could benefit from this important connecting road and modern drainage system at the earliest possible opportunity.
