Punjab Deports Over 35,000 Foreign Nationals

Punjab authorities have deported 35,719 foreign nationals under an ongoing province-wide campaign targeting individuals residing in Pakistan illegally, police said on Wednesday.

According to a police spokesperson, the deportees included 11,047 holders of Proof of Residence (PoR) cards, 11,135 Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders, and 13,537 foreign nationals who were living in the country without legal documentation.

Official data showed that those deported comprised more than 14,000 men, 7,138 women, and 14,529 children.

The spokesperson said the operation had been conducted across Punjab, including Lahore. A total of 72 foreign nationals are currently being housed at designated holding centres, where arrangements for their deportation are underway.

Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Karim has directed law enforcement agencies to remain on high alert across the province and ensure the removal of all individuals residing in Pakistan unlawfully.
