Balochistan is set to remain under the grip of intense heat over the next two days, with the Meteorological Department’s Quetta Regional Centre forecasting predominantly hot and dry weather across most parts of the province and warning of strong, dust-laden winds in several southern districts.
According to the weather advisory issued on Sunday, powerful gusty winds accompanied by blowing sand and dust are expected to affect Chagai, Washuk, Panjgur and Kech during the afternoon and evening over the next 24 hours. The department attributed the prevailing weather conditions to a seasonal low-pressure system positioned over Balochistan, while a continental air mass continues to dominate most parts of the region.
The forecast for the next 48 hours indicates that hot and dry conditions will persist across the province. Extremely high temperatures are expected to prevail in Sibbi, Usta Muhammad, Sohbatpur, Jaffarabad, Naseerabad, Nokkundi, Washuk, Panjgur, Kech, Dalbandin, Kharan and Noshki.
Weather data for the past 24 hours showed no rainfall anywhere in the province.
The highest maximum temperature was recorded in Sibbi at 47.0 degrees Celsius, followed by Nokkundi at 45.0°C, Dalbandin at 44.5°C and Usta Muhammad at 44.0°C.
