Sachal Social Enterprises organized an Agro and Business Expo at Latif University Khairpur in collaboration with the International Trade Center and European partners
to ensure increased profitability and economic stability for rural producers.
At the comprehensive agricultural and business exhibition held at Shah Abdul Latif University on Wednesday, it was stated that this platform will connect local farmers and producers with various markets, providing opportunities for small-scale farmers and women artisans working from home to earn better profits. The event was held in partnership with the International Trade Center (ITC) and European partners.
The exhibition was attended by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushk, as the chief guest, while other dignitaries included Shehnaz Kapadia, Rahat from ITC, Deputy Director of Agriculture Khairpur Shabana Siyal, and representatives from the Livestock and Forestry departments, along with community leaders and social activists.
Jamaluddin Lakho, Director of Marketing at Sachal SEP, stated that this platform was established with the support of the European ITC. He detailed its mission, saying that its purpose is to provide market access opportunities, specifically targeting small farmers and women artisans so they can get better compensation for their products.
In his address, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Yousuf Khushk praised the organizers’ efforts for the development of small farmers. He called agriculture the foundation of the economy and affirmed that such programs are crucial for encouraging farmers and promoting business development, assuring the university’s full support for the project.
The exhibition featured 26 stalls displaying various local items. The products presented at the expo included henna, graft products, handicrafts, and innovative items made from natural fiber from banana stems, highlighting the region’s artistic skills.
The event concluded with Sachal SEP’s CEO, Ghulam Qasim Bhutto, and his team presenting traditional Sindhi Ajraks and certificates of appreciation to the esteemed guests. The organizers thanked all participants for their attendance.
