Islamabad, 2-Feb-2026 (PPI): Authorities discussed bolstering mutual cooperation between the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and Safe City Islamabad to curb drug trafficking and reduce crime rates in the federal capital during a high-level visit to the city’s central surveillance facility.
A delegation of ANF officers, facilitated by DG Safe City and DIG Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joya alongside the Director IT, was given a comprehensive tour of the project.
The officials inspected the central system, the Command and Control Centre, and the Police Operations Centre Hall, receiving detailed briefings on the operational capabilities and efficacy of the advanced camera network.
The ANF team was informed that Safe City Islamabad contributes significantly to public safety through its integrated initiatives, which include the Police Operations Centre, Emergency Control Centre, Dispatch Control Centre, and the “Pukar-15” emergency helpline.
It was highlighted that the surveillance cameras across the city play a significant role in ensuring urban security, crime prevention, and the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
The briefing also covered the deployment of facial recognition cameras at the city’s entry and exit points, which are instrumental in identifying suspicious elements.
Furthermore, Mr Joya detailed the functionality of the Hotel Eye and Travel Eye software, explaining how these systems assist law enforcement in the identification and apprehension of criminals.
The visiting delegation commended the sophisticated technological systems utilised by the Islamabad Police and expressed their gratitude for the informative tour. The visit concluded with a formal exchange of police shields and souvenirs.
