APHC AJK expresses concern over worsening situation in IOK

Islamabad, July 29, 2020 (PPI-OT): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJK chapter has expressed concern over the attempts being made by India to change the demography of occupied Kashmir, atrocities and arbitrary arrests of Hurriyat leaders, activists and youth in the territory.

The APHC-AJK at a meeting in Islamabad said that the Kashmir dispute had center-staged in the world as a result of unparalleled sacrifices offered by the Kashmiri people for the freedom cause, and the world is pushing for a solution to the issue. The meeting was held under the chair of Convener Mustafa Muhammad Hussain at APHC office in Islamabad.

On the occasion, APHC leaders said that India wanted to make the UN resolutions ineffective on Kashmir by changing the demography of the occupied territory. They said that India in violation of international laws, resolutions and bilateral agreements had merged occupied Kashmir with India on August 5 last year, and now non-Kashmiris were being settled on large scale in the territory.

The leaders said that the All Parties Hurriyat Conference had announced a comprehensive protest programme in occupied Kashmir on August 5 against the illegal actions of India while the APHC-AJK chapter Azad Kashmir would also organize protests in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir on the day.

The meeting was attended by Mohammad Farooq Rahmani, Sheikh Abdul Matin, Shamim Shawl, Abdul Majeed Malik, Haji Mohammad Sultan Butt, Nazir Ahmed Karnai, Abdul Majeed Mir, Imtiaz Iqbal Wani, Advocate Pervez Ahmed Shah, Javed Iqbal Butt, Sheikh Mohammad Yaqub, Adeel Mushtaq Wani, Nisar Mirza, Ishtiaq Hameed, Raja Khadim Hussain and Kifayat Hussain Rizvi.
