Army copters deliver tons of relief items to flood-hit people

Karachi: Army aviation helicopters have delivered tons of relief items to the flood affectees across the country during the last 24 hours, said a statement issued by the National Flood Response Coordination Centre (NFRCC) on Sunday.

Weather Forecast

In last 24 hours, rain-wind/thunderstorm occurred in upper Punjab, upper KP, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. Yesterday’s recorded highest maximum temperatures: Sibbi 42C, Rohri, Bahawalnagar and Sukkur 40C.

In next 24 hours, mainly dry weather is likely to prevail over most plain areas of the country. However, rain-wind/thundershower is expected in KP, Kashmir, upper/central Punjab and Gilgit Baltistan.

Damages of Infrastructure and Private Properties

During last 24 hours, no infrastructure damage was reported from anywhere. A total of 12,735km roads and 375 bridges have been damaged.

Most Affected Districts

Worst affected districts of Sindh include Qambar Shahdad Kot, Jacobabad, Larkana, Khairpur, Dadu, Noshero Feroz, Thatta and Badin.

In Balochistan districts include Quetta, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, Jhalmagsi, Bolan, Sohbatpur and Lesbela.

KP include Dir, Swat, Charsadda, Kohistan, Tank and DI Khan and in Punjab include DG Khan and Rajanpur.

Aviation Efforts

So far 557 Army Aviation helicopters sorties have been flown to various areas for evacuation of stranded people. In last 24 hours, 11 sorties have been flown and delivered 13.7 tons of relief items to the flood affectees. Moreover, until now 4,648 stranded Individuals have been evacuated through helicopter sorties.

Relief Camps/Relief Items Collection Points

So far 147 Relief Camps and 220 Relief Collection points in Sindh, South Punjab and Balochistan have been established across the country for flood affectees.

Donations

Until now 9,386 tons of food items along with 1,579 tons of sustenance items and 8,746,414 medicine items have been collected so far. However, 9171.7 tons of food, 1541.2 tons of sustenance items and 8,430,134 medicine items have been distributed Uptil now.

Medical Relief

More than 300 medical camps established so far in which more than 318,266 patients have been treated all across the country and provided 3-5 days’ free medicine.

Pakistan Navy Relief and Rescue Efforts

PN established 04 x Flood Relief centers and 18 x Central Collection Points all across the country. These collection centers have distributed 1568 tons ration, 5198 x tents and 697,306 liters mineral water in various districts. In addition, 11 x tent cities have also been established where 17843 Personnel have been accommodated. Moreover, PN’s 23 x Emergency Response teams (ERTs) deployed all over Pakistan have rescued 15300 x stranded personnel. These ERTs are equipped with 46 x motorized boats and 02 x Hovercraft.

PN has also deployed 01 x helicopters in interior Sindh. Until now, in 62 x sorties, these helicopters rescued 475 x stranded people and distributed 4811 packets of ration. 08 x Diving Teams of Pak Navy have also carried out 27 x Diving Ops in affected areas across the Pakistan. PN has also established 70 x Medical Camps in which 63277 x patients have been treated till to date.
