Baloch Students Action Committee (BSAC) held a protest in Quetta on Wednesday, objecting to a recent raid by security forces on a book stall in Gwadar.
The demonstration was a response to the seizure of books and the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) against students accused of selling books.
The protesters stated that the raid occurred at a book stall set up under the “Kitab Karwan” initiative. The FIR lodged against the students marks an unprecedented action in the country, where students are being penalized for selling books. The book stall was situated outside Dharia School in Gwadar city.
During the protest, speakers, including BSAC leader Shabir Baloch, criticized the government’s actions, describing them as a setback for educational activities. They called for the withdrawal of the FIR, asserting that such measures would not deter Baloch students from continuing their peaceful protests.
The demonstration was marked by slogans supporting the students’ demands and eventually concluded without any incidents, as the protesters dispersed peacefully.
