Devotees of a shrine near Choondko protested on Monday after local police allegedly refused to register a case against individuals who allegedly attacked and robbed their spiritual leader and two followers, injuring them.
According to available information, Sajjada Nasheen Sultan Ali Shah alias Sufi Nisar of Darbar Tajal Sharif, along with his devotees Momin Ali and Abid Ali, was injured in an attack by armed assailants. The incident occurred in Tajal Sharif, which falls under the jurisdiction of Choondko police station.
The attackers allegedly fled the scene with thousands of rupees in cash and several mobile phones.
In response to the incident, devotees including Hashim Ali, Liaquat Ali Khaskheli, Ghulam Pathan, Muharram Ali, and Sobal Faqeer Khorkhani demonstrated on Choondko Road.
They held Qasoor Soomro, Saleem Soomro, Mujahid Soomro, Muhammad Ali Soomro, Ghulam Ali Soomro, Umeed Ali Soomro, Saddr Soomro, and Ghulam Rasool Soomro responsible for the attack on Sajjada Nasheen Tajal Sharif Sultan Ali Shah alias Sufi Nisar and his disciples.
The protesters expressed concern over SHO Choondko’s alleged reluctance to take action against the named attackers. They warned that if the accused were not immediately arrested, they would besiege the police station.
