Quetta, Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti chaired a review meeting on Friday to discuss the progress of the upcoming 2024/25 provincial budget, announcing that 70% of the budget preparation is complete and emphasizing a strong focus on education and health.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Chief Minister Bugti praised his team’s efforts to avoid past mistakes and ensure rigorous implementation post-approval. He outlined plans to personally visit all districts and tehsils to oversee project development, alongside directives for secretaries and deputy commissioners to conduct field reviews to enhance project outcomes.
The Chief Minister highlighted the activation of the CMIT and the Anti-Corruption Establishment as key steps towards achieving good governance. He also pointed out the need for administrative secretaries to improve service delivery systems to ensure effective governance. Efforts to bolster public confidence, particularly among youth, through initiatives like the Air Ambulance, Benazir Bhutto Scholarship, and educational programs were also discussed as immediate priorities.
Special Secretary Health Mujib-ul-Rehman Qambrani and Secretary Youth Affairs Tariq Qamar Baloch were commended for their roles in advancing the Youth Policy 2024. Chief Minister Bugti explained that two teams would lead these initiatives: one comprising political figures including cabinet members and MPs, and another of officers, each tasked with leveraging their capacities to maximize public welfare.
