Behl expresses concern over APHC Chairman’s detention

Jammu, September 12, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, APHC leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Social Peace Forum, Advocate Divender Singh Behl has expressed serious concern over the continued illegal detention of APHC Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt and other resistance leaders.

Divender Singh Behal in a statement issued in Jammu said that the APHC Chairman has been involved in different false and concocted cases by occupation authorities to prevent him from his just struggle for right to self-determination.

He said, in most of the cases, he has been acquitted and the trial of few cases is delayed by the authorities, violating the universal principle of speedy trial. He added that Masarrat Aalam Butt was the most popular resistance leader of occupied Kashmir and India could not prolong his detention and stop him from leading the genuine freedom struggle.

Divender Singh urged Pakistan to raise the issue of continued illegal detention of Masarrat Aalam with international community and especially with OIC on priority basis as he has been deprived of right liberty and to carry forward aspirations of the Kashmiri people. Indian should read writing on the wall that by continued detention of APHC Chairman and other resistance leaders, people of IIOJK will not give up and will pursue the cause of freedom with vigour and enthusiasm, he maintained.
