Enhanced economic and investment ties are critical for maintaining a strong and sustainable relationship between Pakistan and the United States, according to Pakistan”s Ambassador to the U.S., Rizwan Saeed Sheikh.
Addressing a visiting delegation of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries, the Ambassador emphasized that while the United States is currently Pakistan’s largest trade market, there is a vast, untapped potential to increase the current volume of trade many times over, according to a statement issued today.
He noted that Pakistani products possess a competitive advantage over regional counterparts due to their cost-effectiveness and superior quality.
Ambassador Sheikh stressed the necessity of shifting focus towards non-traditional exports to unlock further growth. He articulated that by deepening commercial relations and effectively catering to American market needs, the trade volume could be increased significantly.
In a related development, the Rawalpindi Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries is set to organize a one-day business conference and exposition in Virginia. The event will serve as a platform to showcase Pakistani products to the U.S. business community.
