KARACHI: Unofficial results have so far shown former prime minister Imran Khan’s PTI has so been leading the by-elections.
Clashes and mismanagement have been reported as polling ended in by-polls for eight National Assembly and three provincial assembly seats. Imran Khan is contesting seven NA seats that fell vacant fell vacant after the acceptance of the resignations of PTI members by the National Assembly speaker.
Reportedly, MNA Iftikhar Nazir was summoned for visiting the polling station in an official vehicle in Khanewal where PTI and PML-N workers clashed while a PPP worker was injured in a Karachi fight and five armed men were arrested in Charsadda and three persons were arrested in Sheikhupura for violating code of conduct.
The Army and Rangers have been called in to maintain law and order.
The counting was set into motion after the polling ended at concluded at 5:00 pm without any break while the people present inside the polling stations after 5:00 pm were allowed to cast their votes.
NA 22: As per unofficial results of 27 polling stations of Mardan Constituency NA 22, Imran Khan stands first with 4956 votes, followed by PDM candidate Maulana Qasim with 4903 votes.
NA 108, Of 68 polling stations of Faisalabad constituency NA 108, Imran Khan is the first with 16,124 votes and Abid Sher Ali is second with 11742 votes.
NA 157: According to the results of 26 polling stations of Multan Constituency NA 157, Ali Musa Gilani is leading while Mehr Bano Qureshi of PTI is in the second position. Musa got 6425 votes while Mehr Bano Qureshi of PTI had 5,224 votes.
NA 237: Of 44 polling stations in NA 237 constituency of Karachi, PTI’s Imran Khan is first with 4,507 votes, Pakistan People’s Party candidate Hakeem Baloch is second with 3245 votes, TLP’s Samiullah Khan is third with 635 votes.
NA 239: According to the results of 13 polling stations of NA 239 of the Karachi constituency, Imran Khan of PTI got 1 thousand 512 votes, while Nair Raza of MQM came second with 292 votes, and TLP candidate Muhammad Yasin got 292 votes. Syed Imran Abdi, candidate of the Pakistan People’s Party is third with 158 votes and Shariq Jamal of PSP is fifth with 44 votes.
NA 118: According to the results of 10 polling stations of Nankana Sahib Constituency NA 118, Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan is ahead with 1527 votes, Shazra Mansab Ali of Muslim League-N is the second with 1319 votes, Pir Syed Afzal of Tehreek-e-Libak Pakistan is third with 308 votes.
PP 241: According to the results of 40 polling stations of Chishtian Constituency PP 241, PTI’s Malik Muzaffar is ahead with 13251 votes. Chaudhry Amanullah Sattar of PML-N is second with 10254 votes.
PP 209: According to the results of 14 polling stations of Khanewal Constituency PP 209, Faisal Niazi of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is leading with 4813 votes. Ziaur Rahman stands second with 3626 votes.
PP 139: PP 139 According to the results of 33 polling stations of Sheikhupura Sharqpur Sharif, Haji Iftikhar Ahmed Bhangu of Muslim League-N is leading with 6,231 votes while Abubakar Sharqpuri of PTI is second with 5,950 votes.
