QUETTA:Fida Hussain Dashti, President, Aiwan Sanat O Tijarat Quetta Balochistan, has called upon the authorities to commence business activities in “Bazarcha Border Terminal” at Taftan border along Pak-Iran border, so that souls affiliated with business and trad e in the province, particularly transporters, could be facilitated apart from providing ample job opportunities to the local citizens of the area.
Talking to different delegations who called on him at his office at “Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Quetta Balochistan” here on Wednesday, he said that Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) inked between CC and IQB and Pakistan customs be implemented, adding that a notification to this effect was issued by FBR on August 8 and subsequently development work for construction of Gates-Way for Bazarcha Taftan Border Terminal, along Pak-Iran border, which was to be completed within a period of three months, was finalized before the expiry of period by the QCC Eye Terminal Operation Trust.
Expressing grave concern over delaying the process to start business activities in Bazarcha Taftan Border Terminal, he said that QCC Eye Terminal Operation Trust completed the development work, followed by assent of Federal Board of Revenue for the purpose, but it was not known as to why NLC was not doing the needful to operationalize the Bazacha Taftan Border Terminal. He said construction of Bazarcha Taftan Border Terminal and its operationalization was the longstanding demand of the people associated with industry and trade.
He added that the longstanding demand regarding operationalization of Bazarcha Taftan Border Terminal had already been brought into the notice of Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, Chairman Senate, Muhammad Ishfaq Ahmed, Chairman FBR and Zeeshan Khanzada, Chairman Senate Standing Committee for trade during their visit to Taftan along, but it was not known as to why the longstanding demand of business community and local residents of the area for operationalizing Bazarcha Taftan Border Terminal was not being entertained.
