Man murdered by wife, daughter

SADIQABAD: A man was murdered by his daughter and wife in Sadiqabad city on Monday, police said.

The incident took place in Awami Colony area of Sadiqabad police station. According to police, the killers accused him of assaulting daughter.

The deceased was identified as Pir Bakhsh, 50. Sadiqabad police took an immediate action and arrested the woman and her daughter.

Police are investigating the case.

Unidentified persons gun down woman in Lahore

LAHORE: Unidentified persons shot dead a woman on Usmani Road in Garden Town area of Lahore on Sunday.

Police said the deceased, appeared to be in her 40s, could not be identified as yet.

The Force further said that it had collected proofs from the crime scene and shifted the body to hospital for the postmortem.

A case had been registered and hunt had been launched for the assassins, police concluded.

15 pickpockets arrested from Minar-e-Pakistan

LAHORE: Police claimed to have busted a gang of pickpockets by arresting its 15 members from Minar-e-Pakistan during the PML-N rally.

According to Chung Organised Crime Unit, the arrested pickpockets told the police that they belonged to Sindh and came to Minar-e-Pakistan to pickpocket attendees of the rally.

Police said the gang was comprised of 40 to 45 pickpockets.

The outlaws pickpocketed citizens in rallies and crowded places, Chung DSP Farooq Asghar Awan said, adding they are history-sheeters and involved in dozens of theft incidents.

Further investigation is under way.

The accused were arrested with the help of professional skills, modern technology and public relations, the DSP said.

The accused will be punished with the help of prosecution partnership. Further operations will continue against the criminal elements, he said.

A certificate of appreciation from DIG Organized Crime Unit Lahore was given to the DSP and his team.

Man abducted month ago rescued after police operation

LARKANA: A man kidnapped a month ago by some unidentified outlaws was rescued by the police after a successful operation.

Police officials said the action was conducted near Otha Chowk area of Larkana. A kidnapper was identified as Farhan Tanyu of Nazar Mohalla.

SSP Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi has said that Farhan Tanyu was kidnapped from Nazar Mohalla area a month ago.

The kidnappers managed to escape during the operation. A special team was formed to arrest the kidnappers, police said.

ANF seizes 106kg drugs, arrests 11 suspects

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Sunday claimed to have recovered 106 kilogram drugs during 11 operations across the country. As many as 13 accused including a woman were arrested by the ANF officials.

According to the spokesperson, as many as 504 grams heroin was recovered from the possession of a passenger arrested at Islamabad International Airport. The accused, a resident of Vehari, was leaving for Bahrain by flight number GF-771.

In another operation, a raid was conducted on a courier office in Rawalpindi and 18 grams weed sent from UK was recovered from a parcel.

The ANF officials conducted two operations in DHA Lahore and Askari-X. A total of seven kilograms of heroin and 940 grams cocaine were recovered from three vehicles. During the operation, three accused residents of Lahore and Sheikhupura were arrested.

In fifth operation, 500 grams Ice drug was recovered from a passenger, resident of Khyber at Allama Iqbal International Airport. The accused was leaving for Doha by flight number QR-621.

The sixth operation was conducted at Faisalabad airport.

A Bahrain bound passenger going on flight number GF-791 was arrested on the occasion. The accused, resident of Gujranwala was trying to smuggle 335 grams Ice which was concealed in his trolley bag.

The ANF also arrested the drug peddlers from Peshawar, Khyber and Charsada during its operation.

Cases have been registered while further investigation is underway.

SHO injured as armed men attack police station in Tank

TANK: Unknown armed men attacked Gomal police station in Tank district, injuring a police officer, police said on Saturday.

The attackers used heavy weapons during attack on Gomal police station injuring SHO Asghar Wazir, police said. The assailants escaped from the scene after the night attack, police sources said.

Injured SHO Asghar Wazir was shifted to Dera Ismail Khan hospital for medical attendance, police said.

Recently, a police station in Dera Ismail Khan district came under fierce attack in which terrorists also used hand grenades and rockets.

Terrorists carried out attack on DI Khan’s Hathala police station from two sides, leaving two cops wounded. However, the police repulsed the attack and forced the attackers to flee.

Police officials told the media that the main gate of the police station was destroyed as the terrorists’ fired rockets and hurled hand grenades in the assault.

The attackers opened fire at the CCTV cameras first and later kept firing at the police station for more than 40 minutes.

Child rapist, murderer awarded three death sentences in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: A Child Protection Court on Thursday awarded three death sentences to a man for sexually abusing and killing a child in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Child Protection Court Judge Hina Mehwish heard the case of killing an eight-year-old girl after rape. The case was registered against Asif Raza on October 18, 2020, at Badabair police station, Peshawar, KP.

The court awarded three death sentences and a fine of Rs1 million to convict Asif after charges of rape and murder were proved against him. Asif Raza set the body of the girl on fire after raping and killing her, according to police.

In a separate incident, a seven-year-old boy was subjected to sexual abuse in Lahore’s Shahdra. The suspect had been arrested and a first information report of the incident registered, police had said.
