Opposition has neither any agenda nor programme: Minister

LORALAI:Haji Muhammad Khan alias Tur Utmankhail, Minister for Commerce and Industries and Chairman, Balochistan Special Economic Zone Authority has said that Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan, had been striving day and night to provide services to the people.

These views were expressed by him while talking to senior journalist of Loralai Mian Muhammad Tahir Bashir Arian via telephone. He said that opposition parties, who had been rejected by the people, were neither having any agenda nor any programme. He said that the budget for the fiscal year 2021-22, to be presented by the Government of Balochistan Awami Party and its coalition partners, would be a balanced.

He added that the incumbent provincial government was taking all necessary steps to provide basic amenities of life to the people of the province. He added that the development process in the constituency would continue so as to bring Loralai district at par with other districts of the province.

More than 2,491 Schemes to be initiated in South Punjab: ACS South Punjab

MULTAN:Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) for South Punjab Saqib Zafar said that at least 2,491 development schemes would be initiated in South Punjab as proposed in the provincial budget.

Addressing a review meeting of development programs convened here on Thursday, he pointed out “the huge budget first time ever was allocated for Southern belt of the province which is 35 percent of the entire provincial budget”.

He said a total of Rs. 189 billion was earmarked to complete entire schemes within a year across the region. The ACS said all secretaries of concerned departments were tasked to chalk out feasibility report with mentioning of total amount of funds needed to accomplish schemes timely, with meeting desired standard and quality.

He said Southern Punjab Secretariat would speed up its journey of progress through complete financial back up. Saqib Zafar termed service delivery coupled with the departments’ performance to be remained hallmark of his office. I would never compromise on it at all, he said.

Police arrest rapist of seven-year girl near Shahdadpur

SHAHDADPUR:Shahadpur police on Thursday arrested alleged rapist of a seven-year-old girl, Kajal Bheel.

According to police, accused Roshan Bheel raped Kajal when she was playing outside the house in village Bahadar Kalvi near Shahadapur town. The victim was shifted to a local hospital for first aid, where a lady doctor confirmed that the girl had been raped. The news spread like wildfire. The girl’s uncle Prakash Bheel reported the incident to the police.

Later, DIG Shaheed Benazir Abad Irfan Baloch set up a four-member team for the arrest of accused following which the police team conducted raids at various places and captured accused Roshan. The accused was later presented to the court.

The victim’s mother, Gori, who has been crying since the incident, said in tears that the perpetrator who ruined my daughter’s life should be hanged to death publicly. The girl’s father was also begging for justice from the government.

DC Nushki inspects uplift areas

NUSHKI:Captain (Retd) Jamil Ahmed Baloch, Deputy Commissioner, Nushki has said that no negligence in executing development work would be tolerated.

These views were expressed by him during inspection of the ongoing development work of eastern bypass here on Thursday. Issuing directives to the concerned authorities for timely completion of the project, he said that the completion of the project would benefit residents of the area.

Speaker banned entry of visitors during KP budget

PESHAWAR:Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani on Thursday in an officer order banned the entry of all kind of visitors, guests to the assembly building during the budget session for the financial year 2021-22 commencing from June 18 on Friday.

The order was issued due to the prevailing security situation and in order to control the third wave of COVID-19 in the province. The order directed the security staff of the Assembly Secretariat to remain vigilant and not to allow any irrelevant person accompanied by the MPAs except their drivers to the assembly premises during the entire session. The order also sought cooperation of members of the provincial assembly in this regard.

SSP paid surprise visit to police station

SAKRAND:Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shaheed Benazirabad Ameer Saud Magsi on Thursday paid a surprise visit to Sakrand police station.

As the SSP reached in Sakrand police station without informing the officials, he saw an old woman sitting inside the police station. The SSP met her and asked about her problem. At which, she told the SSP that an agent of the Ehsaas program took away her Rs12, 000. SSP took immediate action and sent policemen to bring the accused. Later, the policemen brought the accused and asked him to return the amount to an old woman.

Cleanliness drive continues in Loralai

LORALAI:Muhammad Ali Zehri, Chief Officer, Municipal Committee, Loralai has said that despite confronting dearth of staff, cleanliness drive was being carried out in Loralai city and its adjoining areas.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, he said that it was being strived to carry out cleanliness drive on daily basis, but it could not be done so owing to dearth of staff. Zehri added that by utilizing the available resources, staff of Municipal Committee, Loralai was busy to keep Loralai city and its adjoining areas clean. He urged the people and shopkeepers to dump the garbage in specific places so that it could be disposed off by the staff of MC, Loralai.
