Minister: (Special Economic Zone being established in Lahore: Minister)

ISLAMABAD:Punjab Minister for Information, Culture, Trade and Commerce, Mian Aslam Iqbal has said that government is creating congenial and business friendly atmosphere for promotion of foreign investment in the province.

Talking to media in Lahore on Sunday, he said a special economic zone is being established in Lahore at four hundred acres of land with the cooperation of China at a cost of five hundred million dollars. He said the project will create thirty thousand jobs and augment commercial and trade activities in the province. He said foreign investors are keen to invest their capital in Punjab due to splendid facilities and prudent economic policies of the government.

Hajj: (Hujjaj advised to avoid excessive exertion, overeating)

ISLAMABAD:Head Pakistan Medical Mission Makkah Dr Syed Asif Ali has urged the intending pilgrims to avoid excessive exertion, eat balanced diet, consume enough liquid, and take other precautionary measures against scorching heat to keep them fit for final Hajj rituals.

According to a report, talking to Radio Pakistan in Makkah on Sunday, he said pilgrims can suffer from tiredness and sleep disorders due to excessive physical fatigue. He said Hujjaj should take proper diet and ensure enough intakes of water to avoid dehydration.

Dr Syed Asif Ali said a balance food full of all necessary nutrients is being served to Hujjaj to keep them healthy and physically fit.

However, overeating can cause health problems. He said a large number of Pakistani pilgrims comprise elderly people, who need more care and Pakistan Medical Mission is providing maximum healthcare to the Hujjaj

Report: (Pakistan won one silver and two bronze medals in Taekwondo Championship Jordan)

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan has won one silver and two bronze medals in the “seventh Hasan International Open Cup Youth Cadet Taekwondo Championship” being played in Jordan.

According to a report, Pakistan’s players Naqsh Hamdani won silver medal in 53 kilograms category while Haroon Khan got Bronze medal in 58 kilograms category and Jibran Mehmood bagged Bronze medal in 68 kilograms category.

ASF foils drug smuggling bid at Islamabad airport

ISLAMABAD:Airport Security Forces (ASF) on Sunday claimed to have foiled 7 kg heroin to abroad at Islamabad Airport.

According to ASF officials, a passenger traveling to Muscat through a private airlines’ flight from Islamabad airport during checking of his luggage the ASF recovered more than 7 Kg heroin from the possession of the smuggler. The ASF team handed over the suspect and drug to ANF for further investigation.

GB: (GB Chief Minister discusses public issues with delegations)

ISLAMABAD:Minister for works Dr Muhammad Iqbal and Minister Law and Parliamentary Affairs Aurangzeb Khan called on Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Hafeez-ur-Rehman in Gilgit.

During the meeting, matters pertaining to development projects and performance of their respective departments came under discussion.

The Chief Minister also met with various delegations and heard their problems. He assured them to address their genuine problems on priority basis.

NADRA: (NADRA launches registration process of Naya Pakistan Housing Program)

ISLAMABAD:NADRA has launched the registration process across the country under Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authorty Project titled ”A home for every Pakistani at low price; in easy instalments.”

According to a report, registration will be accepted for only one member of each family on the basis of First Come-First Served Basis.

The interesting people have been advised not to forget to obtain a receipt and make sure that their CNIC and Tracking numbers are entered correctly.

Day: (World Hepatitis Day being observed)

ISLAMABAD:World Hepatitis Day is being observed today (Sunday) with the theme of “Invest in eliminating Hepatitis”.

The theme focuses on the hepatitis elimination goals by 2030. According to a WHO report a total of 58.7 billion dollars amount is needed to eliminate viral hepatitis as a public health threat in 67 countries by 2030.
