Chief of Army Staff witnesses ongoing Pak-China International Air Exercise Shaheen-VII at an operational air base of Pakistan Air Force

Karachi, December 12, 2018 (PPI-OT): Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa (COAS) witnessed the ongoing Pak-China International Air Exercise Shaheen-VII at an operational air base of Pakistan Air Force. On his arrival, he was received by Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force.

While interacting with combat crew, COAS lauded professionalism of participants of exercise and appreciated the efforts of PAF and People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) in conducting international air exercise in a befitting manner. While highlighting the exemplary relations between Pakistan-China, COAS said that exercise would further strengthen and promote the friendship, exchanges and cooperation between two great nations and armed forces of both countries. The exercise is seventh in the series of Shaheen exercises and is conducted each year on alternate basis.

Chinese vice Minister of Foreign Affairs calls on Chief of Army Staff

Rawalpindi, December 10, 2018 (PPI-OT): H.E Mr Kong Xuanyou, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, China called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at GHQ, today. During the meeting matters of mutual interest, regional security and enhanced bilateral cooperation came under discussion. COAS said that Pak-China relations are all weather and based on mutual trust and confidence. The visiting dignitary commended the sacrifices and resilience of the people and armed forces of Pakistan and appreciated the role Pakistan Army has played in battling the scourge of terrorism.

A Special Forces contingent of People Liberation Army China arrived here to participate in Pak-China joint military exercise ‘Warrior – VI 2018’

Rawalpindi, December 08, 2018 (PPI-OT): A Special Forces contingent of People Liberation Army China arrived here today to participate in Pak-China joint military exercise ‘Warrior – VI 2018’. Troops of Special Service Group from both armies will participate in three weeks long exercise. Focus of the joint exercise is to share respective experiences in the field of counter terrorism operations and learn from each other. This is sixth joint exercise of the series as part of bilateral military cooperation between both friendly countries.

A terrorist was killed and another injured in exchange of fire with security forces in tri-border area of DG Khan

Rawalpindi, December 06, 2018 (PPI-OT): A terrorist was killed and another injured in exchange of fire with security forces in tri-border area of DG Khan. Exchange of fire took place when terrorists fired on a recce patrol of Pakistan Rangers (Punjab). Two security forces personnels Col Ayub and Sep Rehan, were injured in exchange of fire.

On the eve of 47th Yaum-e-Shahadat of Major Muhammad Akram Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, a wreath laying ceremony was held today at the Monument of Major Muhammad Akram Shaheed at Jhelum City

Rawalpindi, December 05, 2018 (PPI-OT): On the eve of 47th Yaum-e-Shahadat of Major Muhammad Akram Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, a wreath laying ceremony was held today at the Monument of Major Muhammad Akram Shaheed at Jhelum City. After recitation from Holy Quran, a wreath was laid by Brigadier Muhammad Mumtaz Malik (Retired) Sitara-e-Jurrat then Commanding Officer of 4 Frontier Force Regiment in 1971, followed by Lieutenant General Aamir Abbasi Commander 30 Corps Gujranwala followed by Muhammad Hafeez Ullah Malik brother of Major Muhammad Akram Shaheed and family members.

Major Muhammad Akram Shaheed was ordered on 19 May 1971 to command a company of 4 Frontier Force Regiment at Hilli (East Pakistan), where he defended the area of responsibility daringly and did not allow enemy to make an advance. Later on 03 December 1971 he was ordered to attack the enemy positions and he destroyed their three tanks while making an advance. During fight with enemy Major Muhammad Akram Shaheed got seriously injured and embraced Shahadat on 05 December 1971.
