A highlevel meeting was held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Chief Commissioner Islamabad, and Director General Civil Defense, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, to discuss key developmental projects for the capital.
The meeting was attended by Member Administration, Member Estate, Member Environment, Director General Environment, Director General Resources, Chief Architect, and other relevant officials.
During the session, a detailed discussion took place regarding the establishment of a stateoftheart public library and tourismrelated projects at F9 Park. Officials provided a comprehensive briefing on the design and facilities to be included in the public library.
Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed that the library be designed in accordance with the international standards and equipped with all modern digital amenities. He emphasized the need to ensure that citizens visiting the facility do not face any inconvenience.
The library will offer a children’s reading and play area, recreational facilities, a digital and elibrary system, and will be digitally connected to both national and international libraries. Facilities for public membership will also be ensured for Islamabad residents.
Briefings highlighted that the public library would also include a digital index, social zones, coworking spaces, and conference halls for hosting various events. Additionally, the chairman directed the incorporation of a cuttingedge research center and laboratory.
The proposed library will have the capacity to house over 500,000 books, making it a significant resource for the community. Tourismrelated plans discussed in the meeting include the development of a theme park, safari park, and golf club at F9 Park.
The chairman also mentioned ongoing work for the upgrade of a stateoftheart nursery in Islamabad. These initiatives are part of CDA’s broader vision to enhance recreational, educational, and tourism facilities in the capital city.
