Chaman, A meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Raja Athar Abbas addressed the ongoing anti-polio campaign in Chaman, emphasizing the need for rigorous duty performance and enhanced security measures to protect the teams involved.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Deputy Commissioner Abbas praised the professionalism of the polio teams, who have been actively administering polio drops to children up to five years of age. He warned that strict actions will be enforced against any team members neglecting their duties, underscoring the administration’s commitment to eradicating polio from the district.
The meeting, which saw the participation of DHO Dr. Asmatullah, DPO Jameel Kakar, and other key officials, also focused on security strategies. DPO Kakar instructed that FC Rangers, police, and Levies forces intensify their vigilance to protect polio workers from potential threats. This includes monitoring suspicious individuals and ensuring the safety of polio personnel through continuous searches and investigations of pedestrians, motorcyclists, and vehicles deemed suspicious.
The officials present were urged to maintain high alertness and cooperate fully to ensure the success of the anti-polio campaign. Any signs of negligence, carelessness, or laziness among the security forces or campaign workers will not be tolerated, as part of the district’s zero-tolerance policy toward lapses in duty during this critical public health initiative.
