China Company volunteers to help combat hunger, malnutrition

KARACHI:China Power Hub Generation Company (Pvt.) Ltd in collaboration with local officials of the Balochistan Environmental Protection Agency has volunteered to help combat hunger and malnutrition in the immediate vicinity of the plant by donating 200 ration bags to the deserving families in the villages of Hub.

According to a statement on Monday, the distribution of food items is in continuation of CPHGCs CSR initiatives designed to help improve the lifestyle of the deserving in Lasbella. The ration bags were handed over by a CPHGC delegation in the presence of BEPA officials to the village elders of Allana, Mangiyani and Qadir Bukhsh villages. Each bag contained essentials ready to cook food supplies which included 10 kgs of flour, cooking oil, sugar, rice and tea.

Appreciating the efforts of CPHGC, Mahmood Anwar Ghadoor appreciated the timely gesture by the company. “It’s been a difficult time for everyone and with the Eid here by the end of the week, we are thankful to CPHGC for this gift of Ramazan for us.”

Following the distribution, Ren Lihui, CEO, CPHGC said, “We continue to work with the locals of villages around the CPHGC plant site in order to bring a meaningful difference in the lives of the deserving. In this time of need where even the smallest of contributions matter we have been helping the less privileged members of the society since before the start of commercial operations. Even during the pandemic we have been supporting the local government and the people of the villages around our plant site.”
